I have such fond memories of my lone backpacking days in Spring 2008. All the places I visited left a huge impression on me and I'll always have a soft spot for South East Asia.
When you watch movies and see pictures of these places, you're missing a lot of context to these places compared to you actually being there in person.
These structures are massive!
I'll wager each and every stone block placed weighted a few hundred pounds. These structures have stood strong for hundreds and hundreds of years because of it.
These faces are as big as I am or bigger at times. I can't imagine craving into something that dense and heavy but they are all over the place!
